Advanced Clinical Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. As a critical care pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our hospital.
Responsibilities- Review medication orders and quality of technicians' work to ensure appropriateness of drugs ordered, dosage, route, and interactions.
- Adjust medications dosage/schedule as appropriate for patient condition as per policy.
- Ensure medications are safely dispensed to patients in accordance with age-specific guidelines.
- Participate in the evaluation and analysis of clinical data, medication use, drug and drug class monograph development in support of clinical toolkit development.
- Provide oversight of pharmacy distribution activities, including order receipt, product storage, controlled substance process, dispensing, and other distributional functions.
- Closely monitor narcotic transactions by checking all controlled substances that are dispensed and reconciles the quantity/type of narcotics leaving the pharmacy.
- Assist the department in addressing physician consults as needed.
- Provide timely retrieval of reliable drug information from available sources.
- Graduate of a college of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education.
- BS or Pharm.D degree.
- Experience as a Pharmacist in an acute-care hospital setting or general pharmacy practice residency preferred.
- Current Florida Pharmacist License or License eligible.
- Board certified.
HCA Florida Lake City Hospital is a 103-bed acute care hospital serving Columbia, Hamilton, and Suwannee counties and surrounding communities. We offer medical and surgical programs, including 24-hour emergency care, heart care, interventional cardiology, orthopedics, cancer care, and imaging and rehabilitation services.
We are an Accredited Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology. We have achieved Disease Specific Certification in the treatment of Sepsis by the Joint Commission.
