We are seeking a skilled Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic MRI exams and working closely with radiologists to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing MRI exams on patients of all ages, from infants to adults.
  • Verifying patient identity and reviewing medical records to ensure accurate exam procedures.
  • Interviewing patients to gather medical history and assess risk factors.
  • Explaining procedures to patients, including risks and benefits.
  • Sets up equipment and acquires images as per script.
  • Reviews images, makes initial observations, documents exceptions from established protocols, and communicates data to radiologists.
  • Recognizes and responds to medical emergencies as appropriate.
  • Provides physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training is required.
  • One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).
