Role Summary

As a Project Cost Analyst, you will act as a key liaison for our clients, facilitating communication and coordination across various projects. You will engage in our Client Programs Market, where you will have the opportunity to contribute to national and global construction initiatives, emphasizing project leadership and client engagement throughout all design and delivery stages. Your responsibilities will include preparing conceptual, schematic, and design development cost estimates, conducting quantity surveys, reviewing bids, and researching construction trends. A background in commercial construction estimating and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients as needed.
  • Coordinate and communicate across multiple projects with clients, architects, project managers, engineers, and contractors.
  • Conduct detailed takeoffs of materials and trades for all CSI divisions to complete estimates and support senior staff.
  • Research and apply labor, material, and equipment pricing to estimates.
  • Provide conceptual, preliminary, schematic, and design development estimates for new constructions, renovations, and small infrastructure projects, including detailed breakdowns for major CSI divisions.
  • Prepare comprehensive narratives for estimates to clarify the scope of work for clients.
  • Stay informed on industry trends related to estimating methodologies, construction technologies, materials, wages, and cost fluctuations.
  • Assist team members with inquiries regarding methods, means, and costs.
  • Evaluate the complete scope of work for each project.
  • Manage site investigations for projects.
  • Oversee the compilation of final estimates.
  • Ensure quality assurance of estimates before client delivery.
  • Provide ad-hoc spreadsheets and cost comparisons as requested by clients.
  • Update the historical database for Cost Management.
  • Conduct bid reviews and change order assessments.
  • Meet with project managers, consultants, and clients to gather necessary information for estimates, bids, and budgets.
  • Clarify discrepancies and obtain missing information from architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Offer value engineering recommendations during the estimation process.
  • Visit construction sites as required.
  • Participate in client team management and project kickoff meetings.
  • Attend all relevant Cost Management team meetings or functions.
  • Produce accurate and consistent work.
  • Adhere to assigned schedules and monitor project time to ensure profitability and efficiency.
  • Review estimates and proposals with clients, recommending value engineering solutions.
  • Evaluate bids and provide recommendations for cost savings and contractor assessments.
  • Demonstrate professional growth and development.
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of architecture, construction, and related trades.
  • Effectively mentor junior staff.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
  • Preferred experience with multi-story, mixed-use, and parking garage projects.
  • Proficiency in onscreen takeoffs using Bluebeam or similar software.
  • A solid understanding of architecture and construction principles.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
