Job Summary:

As a Project Accountant at Utilitra, you will be responsible for monitoring the financial aspects of projects, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring timely project billings and payments. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and knowledge of Vista by Viewpoint.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor project financial data for multiple projects
Investigate variances and approve expenses
Ensure timely project billings and payments
Work with Operation Managers to meet monthly billing deadlines
Create accurate and timely customer invoices
Review equipment reports weekly for proper coding
Prepare and submit lien waivers on projects
Approve vendor invoices in document management software
Initiate and track subcontract payment releases
Review receivable income and support Operation Managers with collections
Review project financial reports for cost accuracy and reasonableness

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five (5) years of construction accounting experience
At least two (2) years working with WIP schedules
Strong analytical skills
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and knowledge of Vista by Viewpoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization
Reasoning and problem-solving ability
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Physical Requirements:

Extensive reading of written figures, words, typed reports, and computer screens
Data entry up to six (6) hours per day
Phone communication is approximately one (1) hour per day
Sitting for prolonged periods in meetings can be four (4) or more hours each day
Communicating verbally with other staff, contractors, vendors, and customers continually
Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds
Occasional stooping, reaching, or bending

Travel Requirements:

This role does not require any travel.
