Simulation Technician Job Description

At St. Luke's University Health Network, we are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Technician to join our team. As a Simulation Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and operating mannequin-based simulators, task trainers, and standardized patient programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized simulators, and virtual reality procedural trainers.
  • Conduct post-simulation documentation and archiving activities, ensuring accurate records of simulation sessions.
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware and software, creating troubleshooting documents and simulator checklists.
  • Develop and implement new and innovative ways to maximize efficiency in simulation activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with existing and newly acquired technologies, acquiring and maintaining relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Enter information into software management systems for simulator-based and standardized patient simulations.
  • Explain the use of patient care simulators and related media and computer equipment to learners, ensuring compliance with lab policies and safety precautions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Computer Science, Healthcare, or related field) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in simulation or education/training, with clinical background preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated analytic decision-making, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of various simulation teaching concepts.
Working Conditions:

The Simulation Technician will work in a fast-paced simulation center environment, requiring the ability to sit for at least 4 hours at a time, stand for up to 5 hours per day, and walk 3 hours per day. The role also requires excellent hearing, vision, and the ability to lift or push up to 100 pounds.
