Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Maternal Care Registered Nurse (RN), your responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, developing care plans, and implementing and evaluating patient care.
You will provide care for maternal patients during the antepartum period, both critical and non-critical. Collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team, you will ensure the safe and effective delivery of care.
- Conduct and document patient assessments upon admission.
- Develop and revise care plans based on patient responses and treatment outcomes.
- Document nursing interventions and patient responses accurately.
- Ensure physician orders are noted and transcribed correctly.
- Provide educational resources to patients and their families regarding care and treatments.
- Keep physicians and supervisors informed of significant patient and family information.
- Administer medications and perform treatments in accordance with hospital policies.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to non-licensed staff in line with practice standards.
- May also provide care for OB/GYN patients, postpartum maternal patients, and transitioned newborns.
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
