As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for coordinating clinical, educational, and administrative activities of the Blood Donor Center, Blood Donor Mobile Units, Apheresis Collections, and the Component Processing Lab.
Key Responsibilities:- Supports the practice of compassionate and competent donor care with the active participation of the nursing and technical staff.
- Assesses, observes, supervises, demonstrates, and evaluates donor care.
- Maintains donor standards, policies, and practices of the department and ensures compliance with the standards of regulatory agencies.
- Maintains a safe environment for donors and staff within the assigned area.
- Ensures complete confidentiality of donor information and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Practices and teaches excellent customer service skills and ensures high-level compliance among staff.
- Coordinates and holds regular staff meetings.
- Participates in budget preparation and monitoring, as well as, ordering and evaluation of equipment and supplies.
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of Supervisory experience in blood donor collection.
- Additional non-supervisory experience in blood donor collection, experience in Apheresis or Dialysis, and/or critical care experience highly desirable.
