MRI Technologist Job Description

As a key member of the University of California's medical team, the MRI Technologist plays a vital role in performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI procedures with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Operate post-processing workstations to enhance image quality
  • Prepare and administer contrast media as needed
  • Ensure accurate processing of radiology orders
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures performed
  • Sensitively handle patient needs and provide excellent care
Requirements:
  • ARRT or ARMRIT (MR) certification
  • MR certificate required
  • Venipuncture certificate required
  • BCLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Graduate from a AMA Radiologic Technologist Program
  • AA or BS degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of MRI experience preferred
  • Siemens experience preferred

Familiarity with clinical billing and knowledge of human anatomy and pathology are also essential.
