Expert Canine Behaviorist

The Dog Stop Katy is seeking a skilled Dog Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for training dogs of all ages and breeds, creating personalized training plans, and delivering exceptional customer service to pet owners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead weekly group classes focusing on basic obedience and puppy training.
• Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to train dogs.
• Develop and implement customized training plans.
• Meet with pet owners to discuss progress and expectations.
• Provide engaging activities for training sessions.
• Document and communicate training milestones.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure top-notch service.
• Recommend additional services to pet owners to drive business growth.
• Create compelling content for social media.

Requirements:

• Group instruction experience in a professional setting (shelter, kennel, or training facility).
• Strong understanding of dog behavior and training techniques (operant and classical conditioning).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in animal training.
• CCPDT Certification or willingness to obtain within a year.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere filled with fellow animal lovers.
• Hands-on interaction with dogs of all sizes in diverse environments.
• Physically able to handle dogs up to 60 lbs.
