Cloud Observability and Monitoring Senior Engineer

At American Express, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our cloud infrastructure team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive cloud monitoring solutions using Red Hat ACM, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and Elastic Stack.
  • Develop and optimize dashboards and alerts to provide real-time insights into system performance and health.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify monitoring requirements and ensure integration with existing systems.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot performance issues across the cloud infrastructure, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Implement automation solutions to streamline monitoring and reporting processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in cloud observability and monitoring tools.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud observability and monitoring.
  • Strong proficiency in Red Hat ACM, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and Elastic Stack.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Solid understanding of containerization technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms or observability tools.

We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually, plus bonus and benefits.
