We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a key member of our primary care team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to children from birth through age 18+.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for visits by utilizing our LGHP rooming standards tool.
- Review and prepare patient prescription refills requests.
- Administer injections and medications as prescribed by the provider and in accordance with department protocol, regulatory requirements, and standards of practice.
- Provide ongoing patient education on preventive care, chronic care management, medication usage, acute diagnosis treatment, and follow-up care.
- Assist providers with office-based procedures and treatments.
- Perform Point of Care Testing, including hearing and vision screenings, Spot Vision Screenings, Rapid Cepheid Influenza, RSV, and COVID tests, Rapid Cepheid Strep test, Urinalysis, Hgb, and Lead Screens.
- Track and monitor patient-administered tests and patient overdue laboratory orders.
- Assess wounds and initiate the removal of sutures/staples as needed.
- Maintain and clean exam rooms after each patient visit.
- Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and quality of care.
- Provide sound clinical advice via phone and/or electronic correspondence based on triage protocols and nursing judgment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a LPN or RN educational program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
- AHA CPR/BLS certification required.
- One to two years of nursing experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
- Prior triage or other related specialty nursing experience.
