Position Overview & Responsibilities

As a Wellness Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to residents while overseeing the care delivered by medication care specialists. Your responsibilities will include administering medications, performing treatments, obtaining specimens as necessary, and maintaining accurate documentation. The following duties are representative of the essential functions of this role:
  • Document resident health status in accordance with policy.
  • Supervise assigned team members while delivering nursing care to residents.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new residents.
  • Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and promote their independence.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to resident calls.
  • Identify medical and behavioral changes in residents and develop care plans accordingly.
  • Provide daily updates to the Community Wellness Director regarding community conditions and nursing supply needs.
  • Administer nursing care per physician's orders and established standards.
  • Ensure preventative and rehabilitative services are provided to residents.
  • Collaborate with physicians during rounds and assist in resident examinations.
  • Monitor resident conditions and notify the attending physician of any changes.
  • Administer prescribed medications accurately and oversee continuity of care.
  • Lead and mentor assigned team members, providing evaluations and guidance.
  • Assess complex resident health statuses and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Orient residents and staff to emergency procedures and respond to emergencies.
  • Complete incident reports and follow up as required.
  • Ensure all resident records are accurate and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the resident environment to maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Embrace a culture of hospitality and provide excellent customer service.
  • Adhere to Residents' Rights policies at all times.
  • Observe all community policies and procedures.
  • Accept assigned duties and instructions cooperatively.
  • Perform incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Complete all other related duties in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Current nursing license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum one year of nursing experience, preferably with individuals with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to process written information effectively.
  • Exhibit high personal integrity and compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults.
  • Demonstrate genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of seniors and their families.
  • Annual Flu vaccine required, with exceptions for religious or medical reasons.
Compensation:

USD $25.00/Hr.
