We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Harrison Senior Living of Chester County. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality resident care and ensuring the well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Assume charge and direction of the nursing unit, collaborating with the Director of Resident Services to ensure quality care is provided.
- Create and manage nurse aide assignments to meet resident needs.
- Notify the Director of Resident Services of any changes in resident condition or issues with staff members.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established policies and procedures.
- Ensure the medicine cart is always locked when not in use.
- Update resident support plans daily as needed.
- Assess residents and follow established policies and procedures.
- Assist with resident activities of daily living as necessary.
- Support resident meal and fluid intake to ensure proper nutrition.
- Accompany physicians on resident visits to ensure continuity of care.
- Transcribe physician orders in a timely manner.
- Monitor nursing care and visit residents to ensure care is carried out as directed.
- Participate in receiving and giving report to ensure continuity of care.
- Communicate necessary information to nurse aides.
- Complete incident/accident reports in a timely manner.
- Collect resident samples for testing as needed.
- Communicate with families, residents, and staff as necessary.
- Ensure adequate supplies are available for all disciplines.
- Participate in staff meetings to enhance communication between disciplines.
- Participate in problem resolution regarding employees and floor issues.
- Participate in orientation and training of personnel.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Accurately document all care provided to residents during the shift.
- Chart medications immediately after administration.
- Provide input on nurse aide performance to the Director of Resident Services.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education programs.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and possess a current Practical Nurse license in good standing from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Demonstrated management, communication, and observation skills with an interest in geriatrics.
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word required.
