PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Evaluates and interprets information regarding the patient's condition to determine individual care requirements, addressing physical, social, and emotional aspects tailored to age and cultural background.

Assesses and documents the patient's educational needs, capabilities, and readiness to learn. Provides care that aligns with established healthcare standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Conducts pre-employment health assessments and immunization verification for potential hires, volunteers, and students. Performs initial health screenings for new staff, including vital signs, vision assessments, color vision tests, urine drug screenings, and physical capability evaluations. Reviews laboratory findings and ensures appropriate follow-up actions are taken. Monitors cases that necessitate physician consultation to guarantee timely treatment. Researches and recommends accommodations for employees with disabilities.

Investigates and reviews workplace injuries and illnesses. Offers counseling and follow-up care to promote positive health outcomes and communicates findings with the Employee Health team, Physician Assistant, and Medical Director as necessary. Reports all occupational infectious disease cases to the infection prevention manager.

Manages the bloodborne pathogen exposure program. Collects and analyzes laboratory results, provides patient education regarding disease processes, and develops or modifies care plans based on evaluations. Records incidents that are OSHA reportable on the OSHA Log 300.

Prioritizes and organizes work tasks according to patient needs. Employs critical thinking skills, responds to emergencies according to established protocols, and demonstrates effective nursing judgment in crisis situations.


Reviews workers' compensation and disability claims, reporting all incidents to the workers' compensation provider. Coordinates transitional duty programs for employees injured on the job and collaborates with the Employee Health Team, Department Directors, and Workers' Compensation providers.

Engages in new employee orientation and provides training on occupational health and safety as needed. Participates in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies, evidence-based practices, and guidelines aimed at enhancing patient care while assisting in data collection and monitoring efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
