Key Responsibilities of the Property Accounting Manager:
  • Lead a team accountable for all accounting operations and financial reporting.
  • Comprehend the financial reporting and general ledger framework for different investors and third-party stakeholders.
  • Guarantee precise and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Examine the general ledger for correctness.
  • Review monthly recurring journal entries for accuracy and relevance.
  • Supervise month-end closing accounting and evaluations.
  • Ensure financial statements adhere to GAAP and internal guidelines.
  • Assess all financial reporting packages for accurate presentation to stakeholders.
  • Guide staff on managing non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Assist with annual audits.
  • Support yearly budgeting processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures to improve departmental workflow.

Position Requirements for the Property Accounting Manager:
  • Experience in multi-family property management accounting or real estate accounting is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is mandatory.
  • CPA certification or eligibility is advantageous.
  • Strong expertise in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, General Ledger, and Financial Statement preparation and review.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with the RealPage Accounting Platform is preferred.
