Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist - Casual at Excela Health, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality radiographs for diagnostic purposes. You will work closely with radiologists to ensure accurate and efficient imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and verify patient data and physician orders.
  • Position patients for optimal imaging and ensure proper shielding and positioning devices are used.
  • Administer contrast agents according to established guidelines and obtain written consent prior to IV contrast administration.
  • Evaluate lab values prior to administering contrast agents and determine the appropriate type and dose of contrast agent to be administered.
  • Monitor patients during exams for adverse reactions to contrast media and obtain optimum images.
  • Set and adjust radiographic equipment, position patients, and send images to PACS for interpretation.
  • Document patient care, exam, and patient history in the appropriate record and verify/enter correct orders into RIS/HIS.
  • Facilitate correspondence with departments to ensure procedures are done promptly and work with Centralized Scheduling, nursing units, and ER to accommodate STAT or ASAP orders.
  • Maintain equipment and workstations in optimal condition and perform daily QC on radiographic equipment.
  • Assure adequate patient care and office supplies are maintained and implement downtime procedures when necessary.
Requirements
  • Completion of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology Program recognized by the ARRT.
  • Current registry with the ARRT and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances.
Work Environment

This position requires rotating shifts, standby, on-call, and travel between System locations. The incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need.

Physical Demands

This role requires standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance. The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
