Maintenance Team Member

The Maintenance Team Member is responsible for providing quality maintenance services to the community, ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents and staff. This role reports to the Maintenance Director and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a minimum of one year of maintenance experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance Director in developing and implementing maintenance programs for various systems, including heating, cooling, electrical, and plumbing.
- Identify and report needed repairs or replacements for apartments, common areas, and other community facilities.
- Complete work orders from residents and staff, including minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Prepare apartments for residency by performing tasks such as wall repairs, painting, and appliance installation.
- Assist with preventive maintenance to prevent costly repairs and ensure the community's facilities are well-maintained.
- Demonstrate energy conservation efforts by implementing practices such as turning off lights and adjusting thermostat settings.
- Advise the supervisor on needed equipment repairs or low supplies.
- Complete special projects as directed, including room alterations and major repairs.
- Clean and dust fire sprinkler heads regularly.
- Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
- Handle incoming freight and lift heavy furniture and equipment.
- Keep grounds litter-free and assist with landscaping and lawn maintenance.
- Ensure outside traffic areas are clear of debris, snow, and ice.
- Assist with floor maintenance, including shampooing carpet and stripping and waxing floors.
- Assist with resident move-in and move-out as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one year of maintenance experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license in current state with satisfactory driving record required.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in an assisted living community.
- Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the maintenance department.
- Perform proficiently in all competency areas, including general maintenance responsibilities, resident rights, and safety and sanitation.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.
- Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Century Park's Code of Ethics and completing all required compliance training.
