Job Title: CDL Driver/Laborer

We are seeking a skilled CDL Driver/Laborer to join our team in Sun Valley, California. The ideal candidate will have experience in underground utilities and possess a valid commercial Class A driver's license.

Job Summary:

The CDL Driver/Laborer will be responsible for performing general labor duties related to telecommunications construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment. The successful candidate will also be required to travel to and from job sites, install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling, and operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities:
  • Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment
  • Traveling to and from job sites
  • Installing and maintaining underground telecommunications cabling
  • Operating or working around heavy equipment and machinery
  • Performing general construction work under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor
  • Flagging, property or worksite restoration
  • Maintaining safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies
Requirements:
  • Valid commercial Class A driver's license
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 months of experience in the utility construction industry
  • Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform the above for at least 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
  • Ability to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low
  • Ability to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, and a hard hat
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures, inclement weather, and adverse driving conditions
