Residential Shift Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Shift Supervisor to join our team at Youth Opportunity Investments, LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing facility operations and supervising and directing personnel during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and direct personnel, including making and monitoring work assignments, evaluating performance, providing training, and conducting individual and group meetings as needed.
- Assist in developing work schedules, distributing duties among personnel, and arranging for additional personnel as needed to ensure effective operation of all functional areas of the facility during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate youths' appointments and transports, and assist with intake/discharge procedures as needed, including receiving and releasing residents' personal property, searching for potential weapons and contraband, and completing forms as required.
- Ensure compliance with state rules and regulations, facility policies and procedures, and security of various facility areas as assigned, including conducting security checks and room searches, scheduling/overseeing periodic searches for contraband, monitoring electronic door locks and security communication devices, and monitoring residents' actions, activities, and visitations.
- Administer medication and maintain accurate documentation regarding prescription medication to youth.
- Regularly inspect housing units, identifying problems/concerns, and taking corrective action as directed.
- Maintain various detailed records as required, and prepare narrative reports as required or requested, such as maintenance, youth behavior, security, and staffing issues.
- Education: High School Diploma Required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances or substance abuse problems in a residential setting is required. Prior supervisory experience in a related setting is preferred.
- Skills: Possession of or ability to obtain first aid/CPR; effectively supervise, direct, monitor, and appropriately interact with youth, and diplomatically deal with sensitive situations; effective verbal and communication skills with co-workers, other stakeholder departments, Probation Officers, caseworkers, law enforcement, and court personnel, juvenile residents, and the public.
