Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Driver to join our team at the City of Clermont, FL. As a Sanitation Driver, you will be responsible for operating a Rear Loader, Automated Side Loader, and/or Clam Truck to collect refuse and trash from residences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Sanitation Vehicles: Safely drive and operate a Rear Loader, Automated Side Loader, and/or Clam Truck to collect refuse and trash from residences.
  • Collect and Empty Refuse Containers: Empty garbage cans and load trash (limbs, leaves, grass, etc.) into the Sanitation Truck.
  • Perform Pre-Trip Inspections: Complete daily pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Exercise appropriate safety precautions while operating the vehicle and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned: May be assigned other duties as needed to support the team and the City of Clermont.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • CDL Class B or A License: Must have a valid Class B Commercial Florida Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
  • Experience: At least one (1) year of experience driving a CDL Class B or A vehicle.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs, and occasionally up to 80lbs.
Working Conditions

Works outside in sometimes adverse environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, and rain) for moderate periods of time. Exposure to traffic and moving machinery.
