Job Summary:

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures, identifying and defining cardiac abnormalities, and communicating clinical findings to healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures, including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, and Color Flow Doppler
  • Identify and define cardiac abnormalities and extend the scope of the examination as needed
  • Communicate clinical findings to healthcare professionals
  • Prepare patients for procedures and obtain clinical history
  • Assist physicians in the Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs
  • Perform transesophageal studies with cardiologists
  • Record statistics and perform daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment

Requirements:

  • Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS or Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography

Working Conditions:

  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job
  • Able to sit 50% and stand and walk 20% of the workday
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs. over the head
  • Carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance
