About the Role

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Aide to join our team. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our residents by providing direct care services, including medication distribution and administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct resident care services, including medication distribution and administration, in accordance with individualized care plans.
  • Perform resident evaluations and assessments as required by state standards and facility policy.
  • Observe residents for changes in condition and report any concerns to the Director of Nursing or Executive Director.
  • Assist with completing and maintaining current individualized care plans for each resident.
  • Provide timely interventions and share information with care staff and family as instructed.
  • Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, toileting, dressing, and transfers.
  • Participate in the oversight and management of the medication delivery system, including timely order entry, receipt, and tracking.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and current state certification for Medication Aide.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • At least one year of related work experience in senior care, preferably with a general knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding Assisted Living care.
  • Ability to work well with others, take direction from management, and take initiative to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Must be able to meet all physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving up to 50lbs independently and up to 200lbs with assistance.
