Position Summary:

The Chief Technology Officer, Infrastructure & Architecture Services, serves as the primary technology authority for infrastructure, operations, and architectural services at BeiGene. This leader and their team will spearhead the enhancement and deployment of technology platforms and services, applying principles of innovation and operational efficiency.

As a vital member of the GTS Leadership Team, the CTO is instrumental in shaping and executing BeiGene's technology strategy, determining essential technology investments, and promoting transparency in prioritization and planning. The CTO and their team are accountable for ensuring that the strategy aligns seamlessly with business requirements, positioning technology services to deliver significant business value.

The CTO meticulously oversees the technology landscape and solutions that support business operations. They collaborate with fellow GTS leaders to identify risks, interdependencies, and opportunities, informing financial stewardship, thorough planning, and dependable execution, while ensuring compliance with BeiGene's technology architecture, security, and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a high-performing technology team, nurturing a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with business stakeholders and service providers.
  • Develop and implement an operational strategy that aligns with business needs and integrates with global delivery teams.
  • Oversee engineering, design, development, implementation, testing, and overall technical support to ensure the global IT infrastructure meets business requirements.
  • Manage and scale cloud services and data centers to ensure operational uptime and accommodate growth across all BeiGene regions.
  • Drive service capability transformation for cloud and internal systems, focusing on user experience, resilience, performance, availability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Oversee all aspects of Infrastructure and Support Services, including Incident Management, Configuration Management, Release Management, Change Management, Service Desk, Service Request Fulfillment, Asset and License Management, and Identity Management.
  • Collaborate with the CISO organization to establish and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard technology assets.
  • Effectively manage the technology budget, allocating resources to enhance productivity and innovation.
  • Work with other C-suite executives to align technology initiatives with overarching business strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards pertaining to technology that supports modern biopharmaceutical operations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, complemented by relevant experience.
  • 14+ years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure, architecture, networking, security, and operations.
  • 10+ years of proven leadership success at a senior level, directing a team of director-level direct reports and associate-level staff.
  • Demonstrated business and technology acumen relevant to the domain, with a track record of delivering customer-focused technology solutions.
  • Proven experience influencing key stakeholders across complex organizational contexts.
  • In-depth knowledge of biopharmaceutical technology business solutions and their interdependencies.
  • Proficient in team building and personnel development, comfortable engaging with a diverse range of individuals in both direct and matrixed relationships.
  • Demonstrated success as a change agent leading significant transformational initiatives.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Travel Requirements:
