Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and teaching in the areas of structural mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and geomechanics
- Develop and lead interdisciplinary research projects, collaborating with faculty from various departments
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering, with a focus on sustainable urban systems

We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to our research initiatives in the following areas:
- Adaptive and Carbon-Negative Building Materials: Developing novel materials with tunable internal structures for maximum performance and durability, while minimizing environmental impacts
- Surface and Subsurface Infrastructure Systems: Designing and implementing bio-inspired infrastructure systems with transformative multi-functional capabilities, including energy harvesting, storage, and conversion
- Urban Monitoring Technologies: Developing smart, connected, and predictive systems for early warning and monitoring of urban infrastructure
- Large-Scale Additive Manufacturing: Harnessing novel materials produced with local bio-geological sources and deploying solid-fluid phase transitions guided by physics-based computer models
