The Registered Nurse - Long Term Care position at South Peninsula Hospital is a dynamic opportunity for a skilled nursing professional to provide high-quality care to our residents. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing assessments and direct care to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, working closely with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor resident progress, and coordinate care with assigned staff.
- Function as a charge nurse and/or floor nurse, overseeing daily operations and ensuring seamless care delivery.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of our care services and patient outcomes.
Requirements:
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.
- Minimum one year of experience in Gerontology, preferably in a Long Term Care facility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and IV therapy competency.
