Position Overview:
The Line Cook is a non-exempt team member who reports directly to the Executive Chef. This role is essential in delivering high-quality service across all areas of food preparation for menu items and specials, adhering to our company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of the menu and ensure the precise preparation of all food items to consistently meet our quality standards.
- Demonstrate familiarity with all menu items, recipes, and ingredients.
- Quickly adapt to new recipes, cooking techniques, and menu introductions.
- Follow recipes meticulously to ensure food consistency.
- Provide accurate information to guests regarding menu items.
- Assist in managing food costs through diligent dating, labeling, and inventory rotation.
- Utilize prep sheets to ensure proper quantities and minimize waste.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of property layouts, including table setups, room capacities, and operational hours.
- Understand all menu items, including pricing, preparation methods, and presentation standards.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Endure physical activity throughout the work environment.
- Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
- Adhere strictly to state sanitation and health regulations, as well as company operational standards.
- Collaborate with chefs to discuss assignments, anticipated business levels, and relevant job performance information.
- Regularly inspect the cleanliness and organization of workstations, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
Qualifications:
One to two years of experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
