Culinary Specialist

Part-time · $12 - $15 / hour

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled culinary specialist to prepare dishes according to precise recipe specifications and to organize cooking stations for the menu items. Responsibilities will include supporting the kitchen manager and assistant kitchen manager with their daily operations. The ideal candidate will significantly contribute to our goals of customer satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assisting in the preparation of meal components, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing fruits and vegetables, as well as marinating proteins.
- Preparing soups, salads, and sauces as directed by the head chef.
- Plating and garnishing dishes in accordance with the head chef's instructions.
- Overseeing the work of fellow cooks to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Ensuring that all cooking stations are well-stocked with necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all cooking stations and kitchen surfaces before and after each shift.
- Following standard food rotation practices to minimize waste and reduce contamination risks.
- Evaluating the quality of incoming food supplies to ensure compliance with restaurant standards.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in a culinary role.
- A valid food handler's license.
- Strong understanding of food safety and health regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Capability to stand for extended periods.
- Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role.
