About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Principal Software Engineer to join our team at Quizlet. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the architecture of our products and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient systems.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to mentor technical teams, standardize software engineering practices, and contribute to strategic technology decisions. You'll work closely with engineering leaders and stakeholders across the organization to drive business goals and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Director of Engineering and contribute to the leadership team
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in application architecture and software engineering
  • Mentor teams in the implementation of complex systems
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient systems
  • Drive strategic technology decisions

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • Demonstrated ability in system architecture and design
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

We're looking for someone who is passionate about building scalable and resilient systems, has a strong understanding of software engineering principles, and is able to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
