Position Overview:

The Heavy Civil Construction Supervisor is responsible for executing construction projects by effectively planning, organizing, and overseeing operations; conducting quality inspections; and managing subcontractors and team members. This role reports directly to the Project Manager and supervises the crew to ensure project completion is safe and timely.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and uphold a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Understand and implement supervisor's directives while providing clear guidance to the crew.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors regarding job status and assigned tasks.
  • Ensure the job site is clean and free from hazards and unnecessary obstacles.
  • Engage in the Performance and Development Review process, aligning with performance standards.
  • Uphold the company's values in all work activities.
  • Contribute positively to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment, free from discrimination and harassment.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the superintendent or Project Manager.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements to avoid legal challenges.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in operating company tools and equipment.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong team player with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Competent computer skills.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Foreman or Crew Supervisor in a related field, particularly in carpentry projects.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary for operating company vehicles.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands:
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding and work at heights.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to perform tasks while wearing personal protective equipment, including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, respirators, safety harnesses, and hard hats.
  • Position may require backfilling for the Superintendent and availability for overtime during the week and on weekends.
