We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. As a member of our special education department, you will work closely with our lead teachers and case managers to support scholars with mild/moderate disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting scholars with severe needs in learning to be as independent as possible in everyday living
- Instructing small and large groups in academics, sensory skills, art, monetary skills, domestics, and recreation
- Supervising and supporting in the classroom, physical education classes, the clinic, lunchroom, playground, and in transit to and from buses
- Monitoring and tracking required recordkeeping; monitoring behavior; implementing behavior plans
- Feeding and supervising eating including spoon-feeding and tube feeding (depends on the level and scholar need)
- Carrying out occupational or physical therapy activities as directed; administering assigned medical tasks
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Completed high school or a GED
- Passed a background check
- Demonstrated eligibility to work in the United States
We also prefer candidates with:
- Previous experience working with scholars with disabilities
- Experience working with elementary school students and diverse populations
- CPI/NCI trained

The salary for this position is $40,000 - $68,800 a year.
