Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team at the Internal Revenue Service. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for performing manual labor tasks, including lifting and moving heavy equipment and supplies, operating heavy machinery, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate weight-handling equipment, such as fork-lifts and pallet jacks, to move forms, supplies, equipment, and finished mail to and from a warehouse or staging area.
  • Deliver and stack boxes, trays, and pallets of materials safely and effectively in storage and work areas.
  • Operate packaging equipment, such as banding, shrink wrap machines, straps, and wraps packages, mail trays, and pallets for shipment.
  • Load stock in staging areas and insert equipment according to established procedures.
  • Assemble mail trays onto pallets for shipment according to established procedures.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be able to exert very heavy physical effort in performing tasks such as lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds and operating heavy equipment.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with heavy physical demands. The incumbent must be able to work safely and effectively in a warehouse setting, including confined spaces.
