Construction Materials Engineering Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our team in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As a key member of our Construction Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of construction materials used in our projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections and testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Review and document project requirements, observations, and test results.
- Manage data using field and laboratory information systems.
- Perform equipment maintenance to ensure accuracy and meet industry standards.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including management, contractors, and clients, to report project progress and address concerns.
Requirements
- A High School diploma/GED.
- 0-2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
- One or more active certifications, such as ACI Field Testing Grade I, Strength Testing Technician, or Laboratory Technician.
- Effective communication skills in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- Basic math skills with an understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
This role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, walking on rough terrain, standing for up to 12 hours a day, and lifting 40-50 pounds of field/laboratory samples and equipment. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided.
