Job Summary

The Head Start Mentor & Support Specialist provides critical support to young people aged three to five in early childhood care, focusing on literacy, self-regulation, and positive self-identity. This role involves delivering high-impact literacy and social emotional support, tutoring, and prosocial activities during the traditional school day or aftercare hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide literacy and social emotional support to young people aged three to five
  • Deliver tutoring and prosocial activities during the traditional school day or aftercare hours
  • Support family engagement and administrative tasks for the program
Requirements
  • U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent resident aliens
  • High school graduate or GED certification
  • 17 years of age or older
  • Pass the Criminal History Check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or interest in working with young people
  • Drivers License
Benefits

This position receives a living allowance of $16,200 and is eligible for an education award of $5,176 upon successful completion of the term.
