About the Role

Rivermont Schools is seeking a qualified Learning Support Teacher to join our team. As a Learning Support Teacher, you will play an integral role in the success of our students with autism and behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral support plans.
  • Provide academic instruction and behavioral support to students in a team environment, under the supervision of the Principal, Assistant Principal, and/or BCBA/BCaBA.
  • Oversee the classroom team, including the dynamics and functioning of all staff within the classroom to fulfill the individual curriculum and self-care needs of the students.
  • Evaluate and assess student mastery of content to make instructional decisions and communicate student achievements and progress to students, parents, and others.
  • Assist in the collection of quality indicator data metrics and maintain student confidentiality per agency policy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Virginia Department of Education License, License Eligible, or Provisional License Eligible.
  • Three (3) years teaching experience working with children with behavior/learning disorders is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, great attention to detail, and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License is preferred.
