Role Summary:
We are in search of a proficient Electrical Engineer, PE to join our Engineering Operations team. This role will involve providing comprehensive, on-site support for complex infrastructure repair and modernization initiatives, ensuring adherence to all applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of intricate infrastructure projects, including drafting performance work statements (PWS), creating estimates, serving as a technical advisor during source selection processes, and conducting project meetings.
- Conduct quality assurance and safety compliance assessments, perform design and submittal reviews, and ensure the proper installation of infrastructure systems.
- Oversee functional testing and commissioning for government acceptance, verifying design, installation, functionality, and performance through meticulous point-by-point evaluations.
- Assess proposed projects and technical solutions based on necessity, code compliance, effectiveness, and life cycle cost considerations.
- Respond to technical Requests for Information (RFIs) in alignment with codes, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Travel to various sites to analyze requirement packages, inspect existing equipment conditions, evaluate maintenance practices, and confirm operational standards.
- Compile detailed travel reports that summarize observations, findings, and actionable recommendations in an accessible format for non-engineers.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers by providing technical reviews, supervision, and support to foster their professional development and ensure compliance with engineering protocols.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration in the electrical discipline is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant practical experience in the healthcare sector, alongside at least 5 years of design and consulting expertise. This experience must involve direct oversight of large electrical infrastructure systems within institutional, industrial, or medical healthcare environments, and should be recent, covering the last three years.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in analyzing plans, data, designs, operations, and maintenance practices within the electrical power generation sector.
- Extensive understanding of electrical theory and practical applications for generating accurate estimates and sound recommendations for the repair and optimization of electrical infrastructure systems.
- Strong familiarity with local, municipal, and federal building codes, standards, and criteria.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills, capable of delivering high-quality presentations to diverse audiences.
