Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related discipline (Preferred).
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is mandatory.

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in critical care (Required).
  • 5+ years of experience in adult respiratory care practice (Preferred).

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong foundation in adult clinical care, including advanced therapies such as inhaled nitric oxide, airway clearance techniques, mechanical ventilation, and tracheostomy care (Required proficiency).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills (Required proficiency).
  • Highly motivated and innovative; capable of influencing change (Required proficiency).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers (Required proficiency).

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Required).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current RCP Ohio License from the Ohio Respiratory Care Board (Required).
  • Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (Required).
  • Certification in at least one advanced national certification by the NBRC or the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB).
  • NRP certification (Neonatal/Pediatric areas).

Position Details

Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in respiratory therapy, with 5 years specifically in critical care settings (ICU/ER) and 5+ years in NICU/PICU. Experience with pulmonary function tests (PFTs) is advantageous. This role is for day shifts, Monday through Friday, with a 24/7 on-call rotation required.
