Position: Textiles Designer

Role Summary:
The Textiles Designer is responsible for crafting commercially viable artistic designs that enhance the Bedding woven and knit design sector. This role requires exceptional illustration skills, the ability to generate original artwork, and the talent to transform existing designs into fresh interpretations.

This individual thrives in a collaborative and dynamic design atmosphere, demonstrating a strong capacity for constructive feedback during design discussions. They understand the significance of refining concepts and exploring various artistic possibilities without emotional bias, enabling them to produce numerous viable design options. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and possesses a creative mindset, capable of managing their workload efficiently while meeting demanding deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a profound understanding of color theory, capable of passing the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 hue test.
  • Demonstrate experience in creating original print and pattern designs, as well as modifying existing artwork.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and open to learning new software as required, ensuring adherence to file standards while promoting innovation.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Suite applications (TEAMs, Planner, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Possess a well-articulated rationale for translating design briefs into captivating artwork.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and tasks within set deadlines.
  • Understand copyright registration and trademark laws related to original artwork and the use of purchased designs for production.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a design-related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in print and graphic design within the Fashion or Home Textiles Industry, with knowledge of surface design for apparel, wall coverings, or carpets.
