Admissions Specialist Role at Rebound Behavioral Health

The Admissions Specialist role at Rebound Behavioral Health is a clinical-based, customer service-driven position responsible for providing review, assessment, and admission of patients experiencing a behavioral and/or mental health crisis. This role is a key part of our team, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients, responding to inquiries within facility policy timeframes.
  • Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, communicating recommendations to patients or their families.
  • Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
  • Perform insurance benefit verifications, disseminating information to patients, their families, and other facility staff.
  • Ensure all medical admission documentation is gathered from external sources prior to patient admission and secure initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.
  • Assist individual therapists with concurrent reviews with insurance companies to secure continued treatment.
  • Coordinate and facilitate peer-to-peer reviews when needed, collaborating with the results of reviews with the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Provide accurate and ongoing assessment of patient status in the admissions process.
  • Communicate treatment recommendations to and coordinate with other treatment teams.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field. In some states, a registered nurse or licensed practical or vocational nurse may be required.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the area of specialty for the hiring facility.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
