Required Qualifications:Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is mandatory.
Experience:No prior experience is necessary.
Licensure/Certification:Must possess an active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License, or an active compact state RN license in good standing. Additionally, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required, valid for at least six months post-employment.
Physical Demands:This role necessitates the capability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights regularly, with frequent lifting of 25-50 pounds. The position also requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Work conditions may expose the nurse to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and potential injuries from patients or sharp instruments.
Shift Requirements:Availability to work three 12-hour night shifts weekly, with the possibility of holidays and weekends as needed.
Job Overview:The Clinical Nurse in the Trauma Acute Care Surgical Center is responsible for delivering comprehensive care to adult patients facing trauma or acute surgical conditions. This includes managing injuries from both blunt and penetrating trauma, as well as non-elective orthopedic surgeries.
The core responsibilities encompass:
- Conducting thorough assessments and documentation.
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating patient-centered nursing care.
- Providing direct patient care and ensuring satisfaction.
- Training and overseeing Nursing Care Technicians.
- Adhering to institutional policies and relevant regulations.
This role promotes collaborative practices among nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and improve patient outcomes. The nursing process is utilized alongside a comprehensive care plan to ensure optimal patient satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) along with at least one year of RN experience is preferred.
