Department Mission
The department is dedicated to offering a diverse range of recreational and hospitality services to Active Duty Military personnel, their families, retirees, and Department of Defense (DOD) civilians in the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a working supervisor with full oversight of kitchen operations and staff.
- Supervise various roles including Waitstaff, Food and Beverage Attendants, Food Service Workers, and Cooks.
- Collaborate with team members to establish workflow, demonstrating and training staff on effective food and beverage preparation methods.
- Conduct on-the-job training and communicate tasks to supervised workers.
- Plan and allocate resources, including personnel and equipment, on a daily or project basis.
- Monitor progress on assignments and adjust worker allocations as necessary to meet operational schedules.
- Propose modifications to schedules and work sequences to address challenges such as unexpected absences.
- Engage in initial planning with management regarding work schedules, budget needs, staffing requirements, and future work projections.

Operational Management
- Estimate food consumption and order supplies through designated purchasing channels.
- Develop and standardize menus, ensuring compliance with established recipes and maintaining accurate recipe files.
- Assign tasks and provide technical guidance to staff, assisting with complex work processes.
- Observe ongoing work to identify and resolve potential issues, reallocating personnel as needed.
- Inspect completed tasks for quality assurance and productivity.

Team Development
- Support management initiatives and ensure a respectful and inclusive workplace environment.
- Foster a positive workplace culture through effective communication, training, and policy enforcement.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements regarding financial management and operational safety.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate relevant experience and/or education that aligns with the responsibilities outlined. Specialized experience should reflect the following:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of culinary practices and operational management.
  • Ability to utilize and maintain kitchen tools and equipment effectively.
  • Proficient in reading and applying instructions related to culinary operations.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and the ability to manage diverse teams.
