About the Job:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer in our St. Louis, MO office. This position involves calculations, system design, equipment selections, reports, progress submittals, BIM instructions for the project, and specifications required to assure project completeness and accuracy within the allocated period of time and monetary budget. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects and performing complete mechanical systems design according to code.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least six years of qualifying experience. A Professional Engineering license is preferred. Competency in the technical aspects of one's discipline, demonstrated aptitude for managing projects, skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software, and BIM are essential skills for this role. Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups is also crucial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as Lead Engineer on projects and perform complete mechanical systems design according to code
  • Specify equipment based on project needs and available technologies; research resources for commercially available equipment
  • Calculate costs and time schedules for proposed work; review all files to determine scope and personnel involved
  • Maintain good client relations, project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files
  • Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and instructions from clients promptly while monitoring project design progress as related to fee expended
  • Review all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
  • Prepare and issue addendum information
  • Recognize potential project problems quickly and seek advice from the Project Manager
  • Review design methods, procedures, changes in scope, and client correspondence with the Project Manager
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement
  • Mentor designers and/or technicians
Salary Range:$90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
