About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at DispatchHealth Management.

Job Summary

The Medical Imaging Specialist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, correctional institutions, and residential homes. This role involves ensuring operational efficiency, training other technologists, and maintaining high standards of patient care and image quality.

Responsibilities
  1. Travel to Various Locations: Travel by automobile as directed to perform portable x-rays and EKG exams in different settings.
  2. Follow Company Policies: Follow all company policies, procedures, and protocols while performing diagnostic imaging exams.
  3. Prepare Patients for Exams: Collect and verify all required order documentation and patient information prior to procedures, prepare patients for diagnostic imaging exams, operate portable radiologic equipment at patient's bedside or other designated exam settings.
  4. Determine Exposure Factors: Determine exposure factors based on height, weight, body part, and degree of penetration required.
  5. Operate Equipment Safely: Demonstrate safe work practices appropriate to position, including safe driving, radiation safety, and ALARA principles, infection control, use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  6. Process and Transmit Images: Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician, process images and review images for diagnostic quality prior to transmission, transmit images and all required associated documentation in a timely manner according to company protocols.
Requirements
  • State-Specific Requirements: Meet all state-specific and federal requirements to perform portable x-rays, including one or more of the following: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist RT (R), State x-ray license (if applicable).
  • Valid Driver's License: Has a valid state-issued driver's license and maintains a good driving record.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to move or lift equipment up to 50 pounds, ability to walk up and down stairs easily while carrying equipment.
