Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with special needs, ensuring they receive the best possible education in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Adapt and Modify General Education Curriculum
  • Collaborate with General Education Teachers and Parents
  • Use a Variety of Instructional Techniques and Strategies
  • Monitor and Assess Student Progress
  • Provide a Safe and Positive Learning Environment
  • Participate in IEP Meetings and Parent-Teacher Conferences
  • Maintain Accurate and Up-to-Date Records
  • Stay Current with Best Practices in Special Education
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensure:
    • North Carolina Professional Educators License in Special Education (K-12)
    • Must meet North Carolina Department of Public Instruction requirements
  • Certifications:
    • Appropriate teaching certification in Special Education
    • Any additional certifications as required by the state of North Carolina
  • Experience:
    • Prior experience working with students with disabilities preferred
    • Experience developing and implementing IEPs is a plus
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching students with special needs
Working Conditions
  • This position may require lifting and moving of materials and equipment
  • The teacher may need to assist students with physical needs, including mobility and personal care
  • Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
