We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at I-State Truck Center in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components in trucks, buses, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:- Repair and maintain diesel engines and components in various vehicles and equipment.
- Accurately diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs.
- Communicate effectively with peers, foremen, and service teams regarding repairs.
- Ensure quality control and maximum customer satisfaction.
- Meet requirements for certifications and maintain accurate paperwork.
- Valid driver's license (bonus compensation for CDL holders).
- Good work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability.
- Excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product.
- Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, and International (a plus).
- Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: hydraulics, brakes, suspension, manual transmissions, drive train, and automatic transmissions.
- Positive attitude and ability to set goals and accomplish them.
- Desire to take advantage of certification opportunities for updated product training.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
