The Department of Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team. As a Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for performing various transportation construction and engineering work in office and field settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Area Construction Senior Transportation Engineer and/or the Resident Engineer, incumbent performs various transportation construction and engineering work in the office and field settings.
  • Incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing data, conducting site visits, and developing and implementing engineering solutions.
  • Incumbent will also be responsible for collaborating with other engineers, technicians, and support staff to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel to various project sites and attend meetings with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Appointment to Range D requires a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle.
  • Incumbent must have a strong understanding of transportation engineering principles and practices.
  • Incumbent must also have excellent communication and project management skills.

Working Conditions

Incumbent will be working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines. Incumbent may be required to work in a variety of settings, including office and field environments. Incumbent must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
