About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Nova Ltd. as a Metrology Systems Developer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing and developing next-generation metrology tools that will revolutionize the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

As a Metrology Systems Developer, you will be responsible for designing opto-mechanical and mechanical parts, modules, and subsystems to support the development of advanced metrology tools. You will collaborate with scientists and other engineering teams to create new systems, prototypes, and test fixtures, and prepare test plans, build prototypes, and conduct or oversee tests to validate design concepts.

You will also manage the entire design process, from initial requirements and feasibility studies to cost analysis, scheduling, conceptual and detailed design, creating detailed drawings, design review presentations, procuring prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and final handoff to engineering or manufacturing.

Additionally, you will perform risk analysis and implement mitigation strategies using experiments, FEA analysis, or other relevant methods, and develop supporting documentation, such as assembly and test procedures, and proactively address and resolve product issues throughout development phases.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate (Academic) Degree with no experience, or Master's Level Degree with related experience of 3 years, or Bachelor's Level Degree related experience of 5 years.
  • Understand fundamentals of mechanical engineering, including design principles, tolerance, error budget, materials, and thermal dynamics.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Good modelling, detail drawing practices and an understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience design systems for High Vacuum and Ultra-High Vacuum.
  • Capable of conducting FEA analysis such as stress, thermal, vibration and flow analysis.
  • Understand how metals are machined. Some machine shop experience is helpful.
  • Understand basic concept of optics, such as reflection, refraction, focusing, polarization and simple ray tracing.
