Cardiac Sonographer

Job Summary

The Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our cardiovascular department, you will be responsible for performing cardiac imaging and other non-invasive cardiology procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Perform cardiac sonographic imaging and all necessary functions required to complete the procedure for interpretation.
Interact with providers as necessary for completion of the procedure.
Perform cardiac stress testing on patients with complete knowledge of different stress protocols and the computerized capabilities of the equipment used to perform the test.
Apply and process Holter/event monitors. Knowledge of how to correctly set up and document test.
Perform outpatient EKGs.
Participate in 'on call' rotation for echoes and TEEs after hours (as needed for inpatient facilities).
Serve as a resource for other technologists, students, and hospital staff.
Able to navigate and document in Electronic Medical Record.

Requirements

Associate degree in cardiovascular technology with a focus in cardiac imaging and/or 2 years' experience in the field of echocardiology.
Must be a registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or registry eligible through ARDMS or CCI. Must pass exam within one year or obtain approved extension from department leader and HR.
Must maintain BLS certification.

Working Conditions

Must be able to move about department and between workstations.
Must be able to frequently move, lift and/or carry medium weight objects and materials.
