Paraprofessional Assistant

Leona Group Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraprofessional to join our team of educators. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of instruction and creating a safe and secure learning environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist students in achieving daily educational objectives through individualized instruction, tutoring, and guided practice.
- Support the teacher in maintaining a safe and secure classroom environment, including communicating behavior and conduct expectations and administering discipline.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences to support the teacher in communicating with parents about student performance and behavior.
- Provide non-teaching support as needed, such as assembling materials, making copies, and monitoring recess.
- In the temporary absence of the teacher, provide classroom instruction following the teacher's lesson plans or other directions.
- Maintain accurate and complete records, including student records and time and effort reporting.
- Evidence of successful experience in student relations.
- Good general reading, writing, and math skills, as evidenced by meeting No Child Left Behind requirements for Paraprofessionals.
- Demonstrated proficiency in an instructional support capacity, acquired through prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or similar work experience in education.
- IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
