  • Ensure proper IT support for the trading desk, including real-time troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with traders, risk managers, and market analysts to understand their technological needs and implement tailored IT solutions.
  • Negotiate contracts with third-party software and hardware vendors to procure necessary tools and systems.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, ensuring they provide timely and high-quality service to support power trading operations.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and blockchain, and assess their potential application in power trading.
  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve the IT systems and processes, driving innovation and efficiency within the power trading space.
  • Hands-on coding to maintain and enhance the existing IT framework.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within power trading, energy markets, or financial trading sectors.
  • Proficiency in developing and managing trading platforms, ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) systems, and real-time data systems.
  • 7+ years experience with programming languages such as C#, Python, and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of energy markets, power trading systems, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong leadership, team management skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment.
