Position Overview:
The Mobile Behavioral Therapist works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to the development of Individualized Health Plans (IHP) and Individualized Education Programs (IEP) for students in need of social work intervention and support within the educational environment. This role includes occasional home visits and manages a caseload of up to 18 students.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical treatment aimed at assisting clients in effectively navigating their daily environments.
- Focus on the current needs, functions, and support systems of clients.
- Establish rules and procedures suitable for a therapeutic environment while adhering to the instructional program.
- Design and implement individualized service plans aligned with IEPs, utilizing diagnostic information from various assessments.
- Leverage available resources to enhance the instructional program.
- Facilitate smooth transitions for students between therapy and classroom settings.
- Collaborate with the educational team to prevent and address inappropriate behaviors while respecting student dignity.
- Provide positive reinforcement and feedback to students using effective techniques.
- Maintain effective communication with students, families, educational team members, and external professionals.
- Stay informed about general development and the effects of disabilities on students and their families.
- Utilize community, state, and national resources to ensure student safety and welfare.
- Work closely with educational support staff, student teachers, interns, and volunteers to promote a safe learning environment.
- Adhere to Amergis and district policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a mental or behavioral health-related field is required.
- A minimum of two years of direct mental/behavioral experience with children, youth, or adults is necessary.
- Compliance with relevant professional standards of practice is expected.
- Participation in Amergis' Competency program may be required.
- Current CPR certification, if applicable.
- Completion of TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray as necessary.
- Current health certificate in accordance with contract or state regulations.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to the job site.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations is essential.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are required for effective information exchange.
- Computer proficiency is necessary.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
